This product is a permanent dye that needs salt or white vinegar depending on the type of fabric you are putting it on. It can be used to selectively dye bleach spots or entire hoodies with even results. It works on natural fabrics, but Rit also makes a dye specifically for synthetics. Polyester fabric does not dye well. The powder version of the dye is cheaper than the liquid version and works well, although water needs to be heated for it to work. Its effectiveness on blue jeans depends on whether there is cotton in the stitching. In terms of reception, some customers reported that the dye did not give them the color they expected or wanted, while others were happy with the results. Some buyers had a good experience, while others had issues with communication, shipping or handling of their order. Overall, the product did deliver, but results varied from person to person. **
