To maximize the durability of the paint, the manufacturer advises that you clean and dewax the hull, ensuring that it is free of dirt, oil, grease, and debris before application. Once applied, the paint dries fast, providing excellent coverage, even with white or gray-colored paint over black. The paint is thick and does not separate in the can, so you don't need to shake or mix it. However, the product has some limitations. It will not work on a polyester fabric skinned kayak, and it cannot protect the bottom of the boat from sharp objects. The color is also lighter than expected, and there were chunky globs that had to be fished out with fingers. Additionally, some customers have had issues with the paint flaking off after a short period, while other users reported that it worked perfectly and made their hull look brand new!
