The ventilation is good, so you shouldn't need to drill extra holes, but it's worth noting that the compost will perform better with plenty of oxygen. In terms of size, it's perfect for apartment set-ups, and will fit easily under counters and in small spaces. The Essential Living Composter is perfect for beginners, and is a great introduction to vermiculture. The worms are thriving, and the compost bin can demolish all kitchen scraps within just a few days, making it an incredibly efficient solution. However, there are a few issues. Firstly, the tiers can be a little tricky to keep sitting tightly, which means worms might escape, smells can occur, and fruit fly infestations can happen. Opening the bin to aerate can also become a little messy, and while the design is aesthetically pleasing, the size can be a problem for some users.
