- Brush Universal Black onto a clean, wax free, scuff sanded surface using thin, even coats. Sand lightly with 400 grit sandpaper to smooth out any pigment particles.
- For best tannin blocking, allow 24 hours drying time between the first and second coat. After that, allow 2 to 4 hours drying time between each coat and topcoats
- Do not use older stearated sandpaper or tack cloths. These contain silicones and can cause adhesion issues.
- To spray, it may be necessary to thin Universal Black with CrystaLac Viscosity Reducer or CrystaLac Retarder – which will thin and also extend the dry time.
